Fun With Food Poetry

The workshop, “Fun With Food Poetry” was a poetry experience with an added element: food! Taught by Beth Harrison, this workshop allowed students to taste food such as pickles, gummy worms, and blueberries. They then wrote poems describing the food they tried using their five senses. The food was very popular. Lucia R., a 4th grader said, “My favorite part of this workshop was eating the food. At the end, they gave out Hershey’s kisses which were also very popular.” Nuvya S., a 4th grader said, “I liked that they gave out Hershey’s kisses.” The food paired with the poetry in this workshop was very popular. Students wrote about the food they tasted, what food to have on each day for dinner, and many more topics about food. However, the most popular topic to write about was creating a recipe. Lucia R and Nuvya S both said, “I liked writing about the recipe.” This workshop was a popular workshop, especially because of the food and all the fun!
