Sewing Extravaganza

Nikhil and Keegan

On full day enrichment, Ms. Simke’s class, the Stitch Meditation enrichment had a sewing extravaganza. Making skirts and shorts, they had lots of fun.

Lyla, a 5th grader said, “It is so much easier to sew with a sewing machine than a needle.” Tesni, another 5th grader agrees with her. Jane Garrino, a parent that was helping out says, “Sewing is a lost art and an important skill to learn.” The sewing enrichment also makes tissue holders, drawstring bags, stuffed animals, and many more! “It is fun because we can sew anything we want,” said Natalie, an 8th grader.
