Halloween is right around the corner! There’s much to look forward to around NSA, like the upcoming dance and the new haunted room. It will also be exciting to hear some inside opinions about halloween and trending NSA costumes this year.
According to Maya, a 5th grader in the junior leadership enrichment, the haunted room will be taking place during school on Halloween. “5 people will get to go in at a time to see all the spooky scares hidden around in the art room,” she says. Expect many jumpscares and frights. There will be a creepy tunnel leading to a witch’s table with spooky surprises popping out all around. Be prepared for creepy pictures and even a skeleton village.
The elementary school dance will take place on October 31 (Halloween). “It will be from 3:15-4:15,” states Junior Leadership member, Reed. The dance costs $10 per person. The dance will be inside the gym where a loud Halloween playlist will be playing. “Be prepared for popular Halloween songs like ‘Monster Mash’ and ‘Spooky Scary Skeletons’!” says another Junior Leadership member, Payton. The elementary school dance is going to be a popular school event for all the elementary school students to go to. “I’m definitely going!” says 5th grader R osha. And many other students have said the same thing!
At the same time as the dance, there will be a carnival that will take place on the field. The carnival will also be from 3:15-4:15. It will be included in the $10 dance fee. There will be many fun carnival games such as eyeball ping-pong, ring toss, and corn hole. Nearby there will be a food truck selling delicious tacos to eat during the dance/carnival.
During the Halloween parade students will be wearing a variety of costumes. “I am excited to be Rumi’ from Kpop Demon Hunters!” says Eleanor, a 3rd grader. Another 3rd grade student named Tabby is going to be Mira also from K-Pop Demon Hunters. We expect to see many K-pop demon hunters costumes during the parade. For elementary students the parade will be on Halloween during enrichment time (2:15-3:00 PM). The creatively dressed scholars will be walking around the track on the black top in their costumes while parents or other family members stand nearby and watch or take pictures. The elementary and middle school students will be walking separately.
There are many reasons why students are excited for Halloween. Whether it’s the dance, carnival or candy, this year’s Halloween will be a memorable and exciting day for all elementary students to remember.
