After 3 hours at school students are famished but our school lunch isn’t exactly what  they were hoping to have after 3 exhausting  school  hours. Some people go to the cafeteria to eat school lunch but they should not. Everyone says that school lunch tastes terrible. It seems like they dip our chicken nuggets in before serving it to us. 4th grader Bella said “The so-called apples are just some nasty fruit that grows near the dump.”   

But some lunches aren’t that bad. For example, they have pizza on Friday, which of the  school lunches is the fan favorite. But still most kids were looking for more with our school pizza.  “I like the pizza we used to have,” says 5th grader Ashlyn.  Many petitions have been made attempting to bring back the old pizza but  are always unsuccessful.

On the other hand, some kids eat home lunch, which is much better compared to school lunch. “Sometimes, school lunch is good, and other times it’s bad. I would rate it a 6/10,” says a fifth grader named Luke. .  A 4th grader named Vyom said “ WHO ARE YOU TRYING TO FEED!?! GERBILS!?! I DONT THINK THIS STUFF IS EDIBLE!!!”

The chicken is usually uncooked or overcooked, and the mac and cheese is a giant brick of expired giant macaroni and stringy cheese. We heard that in the 70s and 80s, school lunches were bussin’(awesome,great,etc.) five star meals, and all the kids would eat. But, it’s become expired food that is very cheap.

In the future, we hope to improve school lunch so it is enjoyable and more people will eat it, although that may cause people to have to pay for it.  Which most students would be willing to do.
